NOTE: This is Part 2 of the “Mysterious Machines” Series. If you missed it, read Part 1!

Being that the inversion table was in my living room, I decided to turn on the television and give it a try. To my surprise, I found it a good experience, despite being a bit nervous to use it at first, especially as gravity was doing its thing and my feet were above my head. Over the next few days, I found myself using the inversion table more and more. I began to become excited to use it. One day on my way home from work, I even stopped at the grocery store and picked up a salad and some fruit. I was surprised by what was happening to me. It was like the mysterious appearance of the inversion table had made me rethink my life. I had a lot of years ahead of me and I wanted them to be healthy ones.

A week after the inversion table arrived, I came home and found another surprise in my living room. Once again there was no sign of where this new piece of equipment came from. I contemplated calling the police. After all, someone had entered my apartment without my permission. However, on another walk around, I found that nothing had been moved or disturbed. The paper on top of the new arrival, said that it was a body vibration machine.

Intrigued by its arrival, I gave it a try. The vibrations sort of tickled and I couldn’t help but giggle as I used it. Later in the evening, I used the inversion table again. Over the next week, I continued to find myself eating healthier and using the exercise equipment on a daily basis. I found myself creating routines around the use of the equipment. I’d get up in the morning and use the body vibration machine, then I’d pack myself a healthy lunch for work, eat my breakfast and then head off to work. Instead of taking the elevator, I’d use the stairs.

At first, I found this a challenge. I was short of breath, going up them, but after a few days, I found it getting easier and easier. Similarly, I gradually found eating better and exercising to be normal things in my life now. When I went to the grocery store, I bought less junk like chips and cookies. When they weren’t in my apartment, I couldn’t eat them. In the evening, when I’d get home, I’d once again use the stairs, unless I had a lot of stuff to take up to the third floor. Then, I’d use the inversion table, followed by a short break, and then fifteen minutes on the body vibration machine. Next, I’d make myself a healthy supper. I made sure to drink more water each day too.

Every time I used the exercise equipment, I couldn’t help but wonder how it had gotten into my apartment. It had been just the kick I needed to make me re-evaluate my life’s choices. It felt like an angel had brought it. I would really like to meet that angel. I hope that he or she comes forward one day. Perhaps, he or she doesn’t want me to know who they are, because they came into my apartment without permission. However, I am very grateful to them and just want to thank them for changing my life.

My exercising also gave me increased self-confidence, especially after neighbors and co-workers began to notice and comment. Next week, I’m going to take a Saturday and go shopping for some new clothing because some of what I own is now getting to be too big on me. The exercise equipment arriving in my apartment is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me in my life, and I plan to continue using it and bettering my life.

It had been a normal Friday until I came home from work. I unlocked the door to my apartment, opened it and went inside. Immediately, I saw that things were not right. In the middle of my living room was a strange piece of equipment. I had not ordered anything, and I hadn’t given anyone permission to enter my apartment either. It was equipment from

I walked back to my door and looked at it. There was no sign of forced entry, and if whoever had brought the strange thing that was sitting where my coffee table had once stood, they would have taken something, not brought something. While my coffee table had been moved, it was still in my house. I walked from room to room looking to see if anything else was different, but nothing else had been touched. And, it appeared that whomever had put the thing in my living room had used a key. I wondered if maybe the landlord had allowed someone admittance, but to the wrong apartment.

I decided to watch the bulletin board in our lobby to see if any sort of notice appeared. In the meantime, I was curious about what was sitting in my living room. It wasn’t in a box and appeared to be fully set up. On top of the item that looked like a swinging table was a piece of paper. I picked it up and began to read. I learned that the strange item I was looking at was an inversion table and the paper also explained how to use it. There was still no clue of how it had ended up in my living room.

I’m not one for much exercise. I’m not saying that exercise is bad, I simply have never managed to make it a part of my routine. I have a lot of bad habits, I know. For one, I’m overweight and enjoy junk food far too much. A typical day for me is heading off to work where I’m a mattress tester. This is an amazing job. I get to sleep and relax a lot at work. But before you go out and apply to be one too, you’ve got to know, that there is also a lot of paperwork that goes with the job. I need to fill out detailed reports on all the mattresses I test. I do this at my desk after I test each mattress because I don’t want to mix up any of them. I’m thirty-four years old and have been doing this job for ten years.

When I get home, I usually make myself a cup of sugar and open a bag of chips or popcorn to snack on while I watch something on television. Often, I order take out and then eat it in front of the TV, and then I head off to bed. The next morning, I start the same routine over again. On the weekends, I usually binge watch on television shows. I don’t have many friends, am shy and between my less than beautiful physique and my shyness, it is hard to attract a boyfriend.

End of Part 1. Stay tuned for Part 2!
